TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Fall commencement ceremonies for 2012 at Northeastern State University are scheduled Dec. 14-15 in Jack Dobbins Field House on the Tahlequah campus.

"Walking across the stage to receive a degree after so many years of hard work and achievement is one of the most memorable days in a graduate's life," said Jerrett Phillips, interim executive director of enrollment management.

"We invite the families and friends of our fall graduates to attend this ceremony. The faculty, staff and administration are fully focused on helping NSU students attain their goal of graduation, and we extend our enthusiastic congratulations to these candidates. They will be outstanding citizens of their communities, of Oklahoma and of the nation."

Long-time NSU administrator Dr. Janet Bahr, assistant vice president of academic affairs, will deliver the address at each of the ceremonies. Bahr will retire on Jan. 2, 2013, after 28 years of service to the institution.

The College of Education will hold its commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. At 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, the College of Business and Technology and the College of Science and Health Professions will announce their graduates, followed by the College of Liberal Arts at 11:30 a.m.

During the ceremonies, NSU will confer degrees to 582 bachelor's and 101 master's candidates. One NSU ROTC student will be commissioned and receive the oath of office.

Connie Reilly, regent for the Regional University System of Oklahoma, will attend the College of Education commencement.

Family and friends who wish to attend the ceremonies must obtain tickets from the graduate. Students will be able to pick up their allotted number of tickets the day of their graduation.

Ceremonies will be streamed live to the auditorium of the W. Roger Webb Educational Technology Center, located east of the field house, for non-ticketholders.
