Published: 2012-03-28

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. --- Randy Gipson has decided to remain as women's head basketball coach at Northeastern State University.

In a statement released today, Gipson said, "After serious, deep soul searching, personally and with my family, we have decided that Northeastern State University is where we truly want to be. We have deep roots in this community and found it too difficult to walk away from the multitude of great things happening at NSU."

Tony Duckworth, director of athletics and chief athletics officer, affirmed his commitment to Gipson.

"Northeastern State University and the Department of Athletics supports Randy Gipson's desire to remain our head women's basketball coach," said Duckworth. "I look forward to continue working with coach Gipson as he directs the RiverHawks women's basketball program."
