NSU's RiverHawk Jam set for Feb. 18

Published: 2012-02-06

Riverhawk Jam is an opportunity for prospective students and their parents to plan their futures at Northeastern State University without missing a day of school.

This years RiverHawk Jam is set for Feb. 18 in the W. Roger Webb Educational Technology Center on the Tahlequah campus.

This is an outstanding way for high school students to visit campus and learn about everything we offer at NSU," said Jason Jessie, interim assistant director of High School and College Relations. It is on a Saturday so students need not miss school. They will tour the campus, visit our housing facilities, hear about scholarships and financial aid, and faculty members will discuss our academic programs.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. and light refreshments will be served. Each of NSUs colleges will display information about courses of study in the Webb Center lobby.

Following registration, students and parents receive a presentation about admissions, student life, financial aid and scholarships. Then NSU student ambassadors will lead groups on campus tours.

Each student registered for RiverHawk Jam receives a free t-shirt and admission to the NSU basketball games versus Lindenwood at Jack Dobbins Field House. Plus, there will also be scholarship giveaways.

We would also like to invite underclassmen to attend RiverHawk Jam, Jessie said. Some activities are geared toward seniors who are making preparations, but the day is not limited to them. Juniors, sophomores and even freshmen who are looking for a university to consider are welcome to visit.

For more information contact the Office of High School and College Relations at 918-444-4675 or 1-800-722-9614, extension 4675. Online registrations must be received by 5 p.m. on Feb. 17.
