TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Capping a luminous academic career which included outstanding service to the campus and community, Megan Edmonds of Inola is a 2013 inductee to the Northeastern State University Hall of Fame.

Since August 2010, she has been a student assistant for Educational Talent Search. ETS provides college and career counseling to high school students and helps them recognize their strengths through educational, cultural and adventure activities. Before attending NSU, Edmonds was an ETS student.

"We have known Megan for about seven years," said Diane Walker, ETS Director. "We knew back then that she was something special and we wanted her to attend NSU. She started doing great things as soon as she hit campus, and when she starts graduate school at Oklahoma State University, we know she will make an impact there. We in ETS are incredibly proud of her and will miss her when she graduates."

Edmonds, who graduates in May, majors in English and served as a RiverHawk Ambassador and a Peer-Instructor. She has been involved with the Northeastern Activities Board, President's Leadership Class, Delta Zeta Sorority, Student Homecoming Week Committee, Big Event Committee and Greek Sing. While in Delta Zeta, the sorority gave her the Regional Collegiate Director Award and the Elizabeth Coulter Stephenson Grant. She is recruitment adviser for Delta Zeta and was a committee director for the Big Event in 2013.

In August 2012, she was chosen a Herb Rozell Scholar and in April she was named an Outstanding Senior, a recipient of the Jack Kaufman Award from among the Outstanding Seniors, and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. In 2009 she was named an Outstanding Freshman.
