Inola senior named to NSU Hall of Fame

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Capping a luminous academic career which included outstanding
service to the campus and community, Megan Edmonds of Inola is a 2013 inductee to
the Northeastern State University Hall of Fame.
Since August 2010, she has been a student assistant for Educational Talent Search.
ETS provides college and career counseling to high school students and helps them
recognize their strengths through educational, cultural and adventure activities.
Before attending NSU, Edmonds was an ETS student.
"We have known Megan for about seven years," said Diane Walker, ETS Director. "We
knew back then that she was something special and we wanted her to attend NSU. She
started doing great things as soon as she hit campus, and when she starts graduate
school at Oklahoma State University, we know she will make an impact there. We in
ETS are incredibly proud of her and will miss her when she graduates."
Edmonds, who graduates in May, majors in English and served as a RiverHawk Ambassador
and a Peer-Instructor. She has been involved with the Northeastern Activities Board,
President's Leadership Class, Delta Zeta Sorority, Student Homecoming Week Committee,
Big Event Committee and Greek Sing. While in Delta Zeta, the sorority gave her the
Regional Collegiate Director Award and the Elizabeth Coulter Stephenson Grant. She
is recruitment adviser for Delta Zeta and was a committee director for the Big Event
in 2013.
In August 2012, she was chosen a Herb Rozell Scholar and in April she was named an
Outstanding Senior, a recipient of the Jack Kaufman Award from among the Outstanding
Seniors, and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
In 2009 she was named an Outstanding Freshman.
