NSU named one of Mosaic’s Top 20

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State University is committed to developing initiatives
to support diversity. These efforts were acknowledged at the inaugural Economic Inclusion
Forum hosted by Mosaic, the Tulsa Regional Chambers diversity business council. Mosaic
named NSU as one of the top 20 organizations with an inclusive workplace culture in
the region. The forum was held at The Campbell Hotel and Event Center in Tulsa, Okla.
in late October. Dr. Eloy A. Chavez, Dean of the College of Extended Learning accepted
the award on behalf of NSU.
Businesses honored with the title have gone above and beyond to support diversity. The most inclusive workplace environments were selected based on recipients survey responses to five key factors: CEO commitment, supplier diversity, internal policies, diverse people and public outreach and awareness.
NSU is very proud to receive this benchmark diversity award, said Chavez. We work to promote best practices of inclusiveness through each aspect of our mission to be the changefrom programming and outreach efforts to day-to-day activitiesthis award is a true testament.
Mosaic is the Chambers diversity business council, whose primary focus is to create awareness about the competitive advantages of having a diverse and inclusive business climate, with the ultimate goal of launching the Tulsa region into the forefront of diversity and inclusion through talent recruitment initiatives and business retention and expansion efforts.
