Submissions for Broken Arrow Chamber scholarship due

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The deadline for the Broken Arrow Chamber Scholarship is quickly approaching. Application submission will end June 2 at 5 p.m.

The scholarship, which has been available since the 1999-2000 school year, is available to those who live in Broken Arrow or who have graduated from Broken Arrow High School.

The availability of the scholarship funds come from the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, which is held annually in June.

To be considered for one of the 2014-15 BACOC Scholarships, the application must be received byJune 2 at 5 p.m. and fulfill the following:

  • Must be a student taking classes on the NSUBA campus.
  • Must be a junior or senior enrolled in part-time (6 credit hours) or full-time (12 credit hours) undergraduate studies or enrolled in part-time (5- 8 credit hours) or full-time (9 or more hours) graduate studies.
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Current resident within the city limits of Broken Arrow or a graduate of Broken Arrow High School.
  • At least one (and no more than three) recommendation form(s) should to be completed by a current instructor or other appropriate individual(s) familiar with the student's accomplishments. Recommendation forms must be submitted in sealed envelopes with the evaluator's signature across the seal of the envelope.

The Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce scholarship assists undergraduate and graduate students who live in Broken Arrow or graduated from Broken Arrow High School realize the goal of degree attainment through NSUBA, Dr. Christee Jenlink, dean of the Broken Arrow campus said. We know the recipients give back to the community through service and increased wage earnings, therefore, the scholarship program has a wide spread, lasting impact.
