Founder's Day 5K set for March 1

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State University is hosting the 5th annual Founders
Day 5K on March 1, 2014. It is one of many events scheduled for the Green and White
weekend, which commemorates the creation of Northeastern Normal School and the Cherokee
National Female Seminary.
The 5,000-meter run is broken down into age categories; three-year increments to age 70 and over. The race begins at 9:30 a.m. There is also a 1,000-meter race being offered to participants the same day at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $20 per person and $15 if pre-registered before Feb. 25.
Awards will be given for one overall 5,000-meter winner, the top male and female, as well as the first three finishers of each age category. Door prizes will also be given away after the race.
