Galaxy of Stars season closes with Patti Page

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The final show of the 2013-14 Galaxy of the Stars Series presented by the Sequoyah Institute is a show set in 1965 that takes place in the KTUL radio station in Tulsa, Okla. Flipside: The Patti Page Story will be performed at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The show moves back and forth in time as well as in and out of the memories of Clara Ann Fowler, the young Oklahoma girl who was groomed into "The Singing Rage: Miss Patti Page." The country-politan, Page was considered one of the first crossover artists that did country, jazz, pop and even a little R&B. She was an Okie that did everything; therefore this show has a little something for everyone.

This musicals debut was in April 2011 at the University of Central Oklahoma and has since gone on to win 18 awards at the Kennedy Center National Theatre Festival that same year. Flipside, features a cast of six with a band, and highlights 28 of Pages 111 hits including "Tennessee Waltz," "How Much is that Doggie in the Window," "Allegheny Moon," "Mocking Bird Hill" and "Old Cape Cod."

In addition to the entertainment brought to you all by the show that evening, you also have the opportunity to Go Beyond the Stage for a lecture by Oklahoma native Greg White, the writer and director of Flipside.
