TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State University is happy to announce the groundbreaking ceremony of the new student housing project will be on Friday, May 2 at 710 N. Lewis Ave., just east of Wyly Hall on the NSU-Tahlequah campus at 2 p.m.

This ceremony will initiate the new student housing project that was approved from the Regional University System of Oklahoma Board on Friday, April 11.

RUSO approved $15,000,000 in funding through the Oklahoma State Regents of Higher Educations Real Property Master Lease Program to design and build a four-story residence hall with approximately 344 beds on the Tahlequah campus. The new residence hall will be located on the northeast corner of Lewis and Garrison.

The new housing project will be in a semi-suite configuration designed to complement Haskell Halls current design features. The project will also include energy efficient HVAC and tankless hot water systems.

The approved funding includes renovations to Wyly and Leoser Halls that will include upgrades to the restrooms and HVAC systems.

The estimated completion date for this project is the fall of 2015.
