Galaxy Series at NSU presents special performance

(Tahlequah, Okla.)The official touring big band of the United States Army, The Jazz Ambassadors, will be available for all to see at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Bank of Cherokee County, this special performance will be free of charge and there will be general seating for those in attendance.
This 19-member ensemble, originally formed in 1969, has received great acclaim at home and abroad performing Americas greatest original art formjazz.
The bands diverse repertoire includes big band swing, bebop, Latin, contemporary jazz, standards, popular tunes, Dixieland, vocals and patriotic selections, many of which are written or arranged by members of the Jazz Ambassadors.
The Jazz Ambassadors have appeared in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India and throughout Europe. The bands rigorous touring schedule and reputation for excellence has earned it the title, Americas Big Band.
The Galaxy of Stars series at Northeastern State University offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for those in the community to partake in this special performance.
