TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow will host the "Oklahoma Leader in Me" symposium, Feb. 25-27. A global movement in education, "The Leader in Me," has reached 1,300 communities across the world. This work is focused on instilling leadership as a vital component in education and unleashing that greatness in every child.

The symposia series consists of regional educators who gather together to discuss an innovative, school wide model intended to foster a culture of student empowerment and uncap each childs full potential. Applying the seven habits of highly effective people, teachers and students internalize timeless leadership principles that nurture the skills students need for success in the 21st century. This series consists of an engaging set of conferences, entirely focused on blending leadership throughout the K-12 systems in an effort to drive transformational change.

This past year, guests attended one of 15 regional events from 37 states and 14 countries. These nation spanning three-day events attract educators, business leaders and community stakeholders alike. They also offer an unforgettable experience of accelerated growth and development through: world-class keynotes, student leader presentations, best-in-class breakout sessions, school visits and relationship building opportunities.

Last year over 200 educators attended this event in Oklahoma. Those in attendance were not only from Oklahoma, but four other states as well. This year it is anticipated that there will be anywhere between 300-500 guests coming together from several states for the Oklahoma event.

The conference is $295 and includes full symposium admission, breakfast and lunch both days and the symposium manual. If interested in the pre-conference only, "The 7 Habits Signature Preview," the cost is $165 and includes breakfast, lunch and the "7 Habits" participation kit.
