Two Students Receive NSU's Summers Vocal Music Scholarship

Published: 2014-08-11

Northeastern State University voice majors, Lucia Gray, Broken Arrow sophomore and Hansen Johnson, Tahlequah junior are the 2014 15 recipients of the Lou Summers Vocal Music Scholarship.

This scholarship was created in 2011 and is the only one dedicated to the vocal arts. This is an annual scholarship that is awarded to one or more Oklahoma residents and full-time NSU students who are vocal music majors.

The scholarship was established by Lloyd and Linda Spyres in honor of Lindas late mother, Zelma Lou Summers, a former voice major.

The scholarship recipients were recommended by vocal music faculty, reviewed by a committee and selected by the chair of the NSU Department of Music.
