Opera workshop presents "Into the Woods"

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State Universitys Opera Workshop will present the classic Sondheim musical Into the Woods on Thursday, April 24 at 7 p.m. and will offer a matinee on Saturday, April 26 at 3 p.m. Both performances can be seen at the NSU Center for Performing Arts at the NSU-Tahlequah campus.

The NSU music department has come together to present this Tony Award-winning musical. In addition to the 21 singers of the NSU Opera Workshop, directed by Dr. Shannon Melody Unger and faculty pianist Farren Mayfield, the NSU Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Norman Wika will perform.

This musical swept the Tonys in 1987, garnering recognition for Best Score and Best Book.

Tickets are available at the door for $10 general admission and $5 student admission, with a valid NSU student ID.
