Student Activities names Outstanding Freshman

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The Department of Student Activities at Northeastern State University selected 10 freshmen to be honored and to receive the title of Outstanding Freshman for the 2013-14 academic year.

DSA presented the Outstanding Freshman Award to 10 individuals who have excelled in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and service to the campus and surrounding community during their freshman year at NSU.

Honored freshman were: Maegan Blevins of Tahlequah; Matthew Butler of Checotah; Ryan Christie of Stilwell; Elizabeth DePriest and Brittany Rogers of Muskogee; Justin Farrar of Quinton; Marilla Hayman of Collinsville; Johnathon Ozturk of Park Hill; Harsh Patel of Tulsa; and Heather Wallace of Edmond.

The university honored these students at the 2014 NSU Ovation Awards, which took place on April 5 during NSUs Green and White Weekend. The Ovation Awards celebrates outstanding student service and achievement. NSU also recognized the outstanding seniors and Hall of Fame recipients during that ceremony.

Department of Student Activities and the NSU Alumni Association co-sponsor the Ovation Awards.
