Thirty-second season of River City Players at NSU Playhouse

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State Universitys Sequoyah Institute presents: The 2014 River City Players. The shows will run from June 12-Aug. 2 at the NSU Playhouse, located at 300 N. Muskogee Ave., Tahlequah, Okla. 74464. The playhouse is on the corner of Downing St. and Muskogee Ave.

The River City Players is a popular music revue series that presents three productions each summer season. The shows for the 2014 season include: Country Legends, Golden Oldies and Super Hits of the 70s and 80s.

Country Legends is a two-step back in time for an evening of your favorite classic country music artists of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. This show will be available on Fridays at 7:30 p.m.

Golden Oldies is a be-bop back to the Golden Age of rock and roll tribute to the hits of the 50s and 60s. This show will be available on Saturdays at 2 p.m.

Super Hits of the 70s and 80s will celebrate the musical icons of the aforementioned decades. This show will be available on both Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.

The River City Players very first show began at NSU in 1983. The first show combined the best of popular music, Broadway hits, gospel and everything in between. Now in its 32nd season, River City continues to showcase the vocal talents and musical styling of the Tahlequah area community.

The daytime box office is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Woods House at 529 Seminary Ave. Tahlequah, Okla. 74464.

Performance Box Office is open one hour prior to each performance and is located in the NSU Playhouse lobby.

Tickets are $13 per adult, $11 per NSU Alumni and NSU Employees, $9 seniors and groups of 12 or more, $7 for students and children, and free to NSU students who present a valid NSU Student ID. The June early bird special will save $2 off all tickets that are booked for June performances.
