Updates bring new social features to NSU Alumni website

Published: 2014-08-28

NSU alumni members can customize their social connections via nsualumni.com thanks to updates to the websites iModules software. The new release of Member Profiles gives alumni more options to tailor their individual profiles, to decide what categories and information to share with other members, and also allows users to link site visitors directly to personal social media pages, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, Vine and Google+.

This new update is cleaner and more user friendly than the previous version, said Meggie Froman-Knight, Information and Special Events Coordinator the office of Development and Alumni Relations. Were really hoping for this to be a way for alumni to be as interactive as possible with each other.

The alumni website was created with the idea that although NSU alumni might venture out to different parts of the state, country and world, there will still be a centralized place where they are able to connect, network, and stay in touch.

Members can also enjoy a new mobile interface for profiles, where they can log on, browse other alumni and update their profiles via a secure-hosted page.

We are working to have our website completely mobile friendly within the year an a half, said Froman-Knight. We have already begun to make pages on nsualumni.com mobile ready.

Although the new update allows for users to be able to communicate and connect more effectively, it also offers the opportunity for alumni to be able to share job openings within their companies. This feature is also available on mobile devices.
