Theatre company presents comedic play Feb. 12-15

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Northeastern State Universitys Theatre Company will be presenting their rendition of Opals Million Dollar Duck, a comedy by John Patrick on Wednesday, Feb. 12 through Saturday, Feb. 15. The show will be performed at the NSU Playhouse, on the corner of Muskogee Ave. and Downing St. in Tahlequah, Okla. The play begins at 7:30 p.m. each evening.

The show is about a quirky woman named Opal who collects junk around town and sells it in her home, which is also her place of business, Opals Antique Junque Shop. She encounters two stars of the local summer-stock theatre company who begin plotting to trick Opal out of a particular treasure. With regular visits from her kooky fortune-teller friend Rosie, owner of Rosies Hot Meatball Stand on the highway, Opals daily adventures are sure to provide an evening of comic entertainment for all ages.

Admission is $5 per person. Wednesday night is student night and each individual to present their NSU student ID will be able to attend the show for free. Thursday evening is NSU faculty and staff night, where every individual to show their NSU faculty/staff ID will be able to attend the show at no cost.

The play is for all ages and content is equivalent to that of a PG-13 movie. It is directed by Robyn Pursley, produced by the NSU College of Liberal Arts and presented through special arrangements with the Dramatic Play Service.
