Diverse NSU Communiversity Band to delight all at a music concert

Published: 2015-04-20

(Tahlequah, Okla.)-- On Sunday, April 26, the Northeastern State University Department of Music will host a music concert featuring the Communiversity Band.

The NSU student and Tahlequah community collaboration, conducted by associate professor Dr. Norman Wika, promises to appeal to everyone.

The program is varied enough for the person coming for the first time, to an experienced listener, Wika said.

He also attributed this to the range of performers and their backgrounds.

There will be a variety of ages and experience levels throughout the ensemble, Wika said, also describing it as a dynamic group.

This is the third time the concert will be held on a Sunday, which works out to be more convenient for the community.

It will be a nice Sunday out with the family.

The concert will feature music byReineke, Higdon, Grainger, Bach, Holst, and Reeves.

The show starts at 7 p.m. at the NSU Center for Performing Arts. Tickets are $5 for adults, and $3 for seniors and students, available beginning at 6:30 p.m.from the CPA Box Office.
