NSU Greek Sing to host fundraiser for BCM director

(Tahlequah, Okla.)--Northeastern State Universitys Greek community will host its Sixth Annual Greek Sing on Saturday, April 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the NSU Center for Performing Arts.

Greek Sing is an annual fundraiser and competition between NSUs Greek organizations. This year Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Sigma Sigma and Phi Lambda Chi will be a team, Delta Zeta, Pi Kappa Alpha and Phi Sigma Kappa will be a team, and Alpha Omicron Pi, Kappa Sigma and Tau Kappa Epsilon will be the final team. Each team will be required to perform various musical numbers.

The beneficiary of this years event will be Debbie Lipscomb, NSUs Baptist Collegiate Ministries director and an NSU Centurion. Lipscomb was recently diagnosed with cancer, and the proceeds will help to cover some of her medical expenses.

Matt Ozturk, a member of the committee hosting Greek Sing, said that the committee hopes to raise at least $10,000 for Lipscomb on the night of the event.

The theme for this years Greek Sing is NSU Y2K, and teams will perform songs that were popular during the early 2000s.

Tickets are available for purchase in the Student Activities office.Prices are $5 for students and $10 for community members.

Last year, the Greek community raised $11,531.75 through Greek Sing and donated the proceeds to 5-year-old Payton Swim and her family to cover medical expenses related to chemotherapy Payton was undergoing.
