NSU represented on Phired Up Student Voice Coalition

(Tahlequah, Okla)--Northeastern State University junior Hospitality & Tourism Management major, Molly Bennett was recently selected to participate in Phired Ups Student Voice Coalition.
Phired Up Productions, a resource company for Greek Life organizations across the nation, has been in service since 2002, providing training, workshops, coaching services, books, research and ideas to the fraternity and sorority movement. Recently, Phired Up announced that it was accepting applications for its newly created Student Voice Coalition, hoping to attract a diverse group of undergraduate students willing to provide feedback from a student perspective.
After reading a book titled, I Heart Recruitment, by Phired Up staff members, Bennett felt that her view on sorority recruitment was completely changed. Therefore, when she heard that the organization was seeking out individuals for a coalition, she knew it was something she wanted to be a part of.
I love what Phired Up does, Bennett said. They help fraternities and sororities grow, and I love Greek Life, so this was a perfect fit. Phired Ups ideals line up with mine, so this was a perfect opportunity for me to learn and grow.
Although, Bennett admits that the free t-shirts were initially what enticed her to think Greek, she notes its been one of the best college decisions that shes made.
Those selected for the committee will be expected to participate in monthly meetings, to read and review a significant amount of material, and to be an active and engaged volunteer.
Eventually, Bennett would like to serve as a Fraternity and Sorority Advisor, and through this experience she hopes to gain knowledge and a better idea of how to help the Greek growth movement.
Phired Up is lucky to have Molly; she is one of the great student leaders we have on campus, Helen Lahrman, coordinator of Greek Life and Community Engagement said. She truly believes in Greek Life on our campus and there is no doubt she will provide Phired Up with some excellent insight into Greek college students today. I cant wait to see what she brings to the team, and what she will bring back to NSU from this experience.
NSU currently has nine Greek chapters on campus.
