NSU Wind Ensemble brings Band Dances to NSU

(Tahlequah, Okla)--On Thursday, March 5, at 7 p.m.the NSU Wind Ensemble will host a performance with the theme Band Dances at the NSU Center for Performing Arts.

The musicians will play music by Dmitri Shostakovich, Leonard Berstein, Keane Southard and Alberto Ginastera. Dr. Norman Wika will conduct the performance. Several pieces are from ballets and work by Southard is a set of variations set in various waltz feels.

The concert will also feature guest performances by the Salina High School band, lead by Conductor Alex Cobb.

This concert will be a high-energy, fun for all experience. If you have never been to a Wind Ensemble concert, then this is the perfect introduction, Wika said. The music is spirited, fun, and full of emotional depth.This is a performance the entire family can enjoy.

Tickets will be available beginning at6:30 p.m. at the Center for Performing Arts box office with a cost of $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
