Cappi Wadley celebrates 5th anniversary

Published: 2016-08-29

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma)--Northeastern State Universitys Cappi Wadley Reading & Technology Center will host a celebration in honor of its five year anniversary on Aug. 30. The event begins at 3:30 p.m. in the center lobby and is expected to last until 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served and the public is welcome to attend.

The Cappi Wadley Reading & Technology Center is named after Capitola Cappi Wadley who was a lifelong learner and educator that taught her students that anything is possible if they worked hard, studied and applied their intellect. For the last five years, candidates in NSUs education programs have been providing tutorial assistance to students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in the center, helping these students prepare for their futures.

Joshua Horner, staff assistant at the Center for Study of Literacy, said that the anniversary event will include a small book fair, as well as a reading from Tahlequah local artists Murv Jacob and Deborah Duvall. Jacob and Duvall will be reading from their book, Rabbit and the Wolves, and speaking about their other works.
