NSU’s Sequoyah Institute presents Mary Chapin Carpenter

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma)--Northeastern State Universitys Sequoyah Institute presents Mary Chapin Carpenter in concert as part of their 2016-2017 Performing Arts Series. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Carpenter will be performing songs from her expansive catalog and new songs from her latest record, The Things That We Are Made of. She is an American singer, songwriter and musician and over the course of her acclaimed career, Carpenter has recorded 14 albums and sold over 14 million records. She has won five Grammy Awards, two CMA awards, two Academy of Country Music awards for her vocals and is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

It is a privilege to be able to present an artist of this caliber as part of our season. Many of us grew up listening to her music and have enjoyed following her career, Cindy Chanslor, Sequoyah Institute coordinator, said. Part of the Sequoyah Institutes mission is to enrich the culture and Mary Chapin Carpenter is certain to do that. We work to keep our ticket prices competitive so that these cultural experience will be accessible to many people.
