NSU offers accelerated criminal justice degree path

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- Northeastern State University is implementing a faster option for students who want to complete both a bachelor of science and a master of science in criminal justice.

The curriculum of this new accelerated degree pathway is designed to fulfill all requirements of both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Students can begin taking graduate courses during their fourth year, and 12 hours of graduate courses will also fulfill undergraduate requirements.

Dr. Brett Fitzgerald, graduate director in the Department of Criminology, Justice Studies & Global Security, says it was easy to decide to offer this accelerated degree program.

First, this is a wonderful reward for undergraduate students who work hard and who are considering a graduate degree, he said. Any opportunity we have to help students academically must be pursued. Secondly, this program can only make the graduate program grow which will allow us to further diversify the graduate curriculum. I feel that our accelerated degree program will certainly benefit both the students and the graduate program.
