NSU library to host Oklahoma author, Askew – Sept. 18

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- The Northeastern State University Library will host a discussion with Oklahoma author Rilla Askew at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the John Vaughan Library on the second floor landing.
The discussion will focus on Askews newest book, Most American: Notes From a Wounded Place.
This collection of nine essays, focuses on the complex history of Oklahoma, from the Trail of Tears to the Tulsa Race Riot to the Murrah Federal Building bombing. Askew looks at the states story as a microcosm of the nations story.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to interact with this award winning author, ask questions, learn more about her and her authorship and have their own copy of her books signed, said Sophia Beverley Threatt, Instructor of Library Services, NSU Libraries.
