NSU NAB presents Randy Rogers Band

Published: 2017-04-07

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- Northeastern State University Northeastern Activities Board is gearing up for its spring concert. The Randy Rogers Band will perform on April 22 at 8:30 p.m. in the NSU Event Center. Opening up for the show will be local talents Chip Collins and the Rod Robertson Band.

Bryan Harris, NAB concerts chairman, said this year the committee evaluated its budget and decided to book the biggest name they could that aligned with the communitys tastes.

The Randy Rogers Band is from Texas and is comprised of Randy Rogers on lead vocals, Geoffrey Hill on guitar, Jon Richardson on bass guitar, Brady Black on fiddle, Les Lawless on drums and Todd Stewart on keys. They have recorded seven studio albums and two live albums and have charted seven singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

Both opening acts are local to the area, and Chip Collins is an NSU student.

We wanted to be able to get local talents name out there and published with bigger artists names. Were excited that they are going to get this publicity to help them further their career, Harris said.

Harris said NAB is partnered with Lakes Country 102.1 for ticket giveaways.

Lakes Country will be giving away tickets on air over the radio. Tune in and listen for those opportunities to win free tickets.

Harris said all proceeds go toward student programs at NSU.

All proceeds from the concert go into an account that is used throughout the year for student programs and activities, Harris said.

These funds help to provide students with affordable activities and equipment for on campus activities.

General admission for the concert is $20 and students can purchase tickets for $15 with a valid NSU ID.

Go listen to the Randy Rogers Band. Theyve been around for a while and are especially hot with the red dirt country listeners, Harris said. Ive been to three of their concerts, and they put on an amazing show. I believe the community will love them.
