NSU’s Emerald Ball to feature KC and the Sunshine Band

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- Northeastern State University is preparing to hit the dance floor with KC and the Sunshine Band at the 20th annual Emerald Ball presented by One Degree Lawn Care & Landscaping. As part of homecoming festivities, the premier gala for student scholarships is slated for Sept. 30 in the Senator Herb Rozell Ballroom on the Tahlequah campus.

The evening of island food, fun and entertainment will begin with the Patrons Reception presented by Northeastern Health System at 6 p.m. The banquet and auction are set to begin at 7 p.m., followed by the concert.

Continuing with tradition, one lucky attendee will win a piece of emerald jewelry donated by Meigs Jewelry. Live and silent auctions will feature a number of great destination travel opportunities and one-of-a-kind NSU items. The evening will also feature the Choose Your Destination raffle. Attendees and non-attendees alike can purchase a $100 raffle ticket for a chance to win a trip of a lifetime to the destination of their choice, a prize package valued at up to $10,000. Raffle tickets can be purchased online in advance of the evening. Additional tickets will be sold at the event.

NSUs 2017 Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Young Alumna will also be recognized during the event.

Event Chair Tommye Wright, owner of Century 21 Wright Real Estate, said this is an event people look forward to every year.

It is an opportunity to reunite with college friends for such a worthy cause, Wright said. In times of budget crisis within our state, individuals are looking for opportunities to support our students financially.
