fall 2017 Science and Technology Seminar Series

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- The fall 2017 Science and Technology Seminar Series at the Northeastern State University Tahlequah campus begins Sept. 13.

Presented by the Gregg Wadley College of Science & Health Professions and arranged by Dr. John de Banzie, professor of biology, the series includes speakers with topics of interest in six different areas of study.

Sept. 13- Introduction to Firearms Examination presented by Jordan Green, representing the City of Tulsa Police Department.

Sept. 27- Mechanisms of CRISPR-Mediated Viral Immunity presented by Dr. Rakhi Rajan, representing the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Oklahoma.

Oct. 11- The Guy Microbiota Signatures of Healthy Aging presented by Dr. Jiangchao Zhao, representing the Department of Animal Science, University of Arkansas.

Oct. 25- Whole Food Web Restructuring by an Ecosystem Disruptive Algal Bloom Species presented by Dr. David Hambright, representing the Department of Biology, University of Oklahoma.

Nov. 8- Impacts of Invasive Zebra Mussels in Eutrophic Reservoirs presented by Dr. Andy Dzialowski representing the Department of Integrative Biology, Oklahoma State University.

Nov. 29- Cooperative Tumor Induction by Transcription Factor ETV I and Epigenetic Regulator JMJD2A presented by Dr. Ralf Janknecht representing the Department of Cell Biology, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

There is no charge to attend the seminar and the series and events are open to all who wish to attend.

Each one-hour lecture begins at 3 p.m. at the NSU Tahlequah campus in the Science Building, Room 160.
