Murrell won third in Poetry and Top Novice in Poetry; while Avila brought home a second in Prose and Top Novice in Prose.
It is always a great experience when every member of your team gets to bring home multiple awards, Tricia Diaville, NSU Speech and Debate coach, said. We just want to keep this momentum going into the New Year.
NSU speech and debate also won third place in Individual Events Sweeps, meaning they were one of the top three highest-ranking schools that won the most awards in individual events. They were also one of the top Oklahoma schools overall at the tournament.
The next round of tournaments begin next semester in January 2018.
