NSU to host Criminal Justice Summer Camps

Area high school students are invited to engage in a unique learning experience focused on criminal justice, designed for their age group, at Northeastern State Universitys Criminal Justice Summer Camps. The camps will be offered June 26-29 on the Tahlequah campus and July 10-13 on the Broken Arrow campus.

Each day of the camp will focus on a different aspect of the American justice system including law enforcement, the courtroom, corrections and other timely topics.

"These summer camps provide a great opportunity for young people to gain new insights on how the system works at the local, state, and federal level, said criminal justice professor Dr. John Clark. In addition, students will examine many of the issues that are making headlines on a regular basis.

Throughout the four days, campers will have the opportunity to meet a variety of criminal justice professionals. Guest speakers will include a local chief of police, an FBI and a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent, a U.S. Marshal, judges, district attorneys and victims advocates.

Each day of camp will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Registration is $75 and includes lunch each day.
