NSU Undergraduate Research Day set for April 19

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- Northeastern State University students will have the opportunity to share their research projects with the community during Undergraduate Research Day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on April 19 in the University Center.

The Undergraduate Research Day poster session will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom A. During the session, 40 posters representing a variety of research and creative projects will be presented by NSU undergraduate students.

The posters will be judged by a committee representing Undergraduate Research Days Sponsors. NSU students will vote for the Students Choice Award.

The afternoon session of Undergraduate Research Day, set to begin at 1:30 p.m., will feature four presentations by outstanding scholars and runners-up from undergraduate colleges.

Undergraduate research allows students to participate in active learning under the guidance of a faculty member. Students who participate gain confidence and are able to function more independently through taking responsibility for a portion of their own learning process. The projects also stimulate creative thinking, provide a better understanding of the students discipline, develops research and communication skills and prepares students for graduate or professional school.
