Published: 2017-03-31

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- Northeastern State University Drama is set to host its annual north by northeastern drama festival, nXnsu, April 12-21.

The 2017 nXnsu schedule includes the New Works Play Festival April 12-14, the NSU International Film Festival April 17-18, and the Impressions Dance Spring Concert April 20-21. All shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the NSU Playhouse.

The New Works Play Festival will kick off nXnsu April 12-14. The festival will feature three student-written, 10-minute plays and an original one-act play written by associate professor of drama Christopher Miller.

The NSU International Film Festival is slated for April 17-18 and will feature original short films submitted by students from around the world.

The Impressions Dance Spring Concert will conclude nXnsu April 20-21. The concert will include dances choreographed by NSU students and dance professionals. The dances, which range from modern to hip hop, will all feature NSU students.

This festival in particular showcases student work which is an important part of the drama education process, because it allows students to apply the things they are learning in classes, said associate professor of theatre Dr. Robyn Pursley. This festival is a great opportunity for our students to showcase what they have learned about the theatrical form.

Admission will be free for students and $5 for non-students. For more information, visit nsuok.edu/drama and click on current production.
