NSU-BA presents the Biology and Chemistry Seminar Series

(Broken Arrow, Oklahoma) -- The Northeastern State University Broken Arrow campus will begin its spring 2018 Biology and Chemistry Seminar Series Jan. 26.

Presented by the NSU Gregg Wadley College of Science & Health Professions and arranged by Dr. Sapna Das-Bradoo, associate professor of molecular biology, the series includes speakers with topics of interest in four areas of study.

Jan. 26- Flying tumors: engaging students in research with fruit fly models of cancer presented by Dr. Joseph Ahlander, representing Northeastern State University. This session will be hosted by Das-Bradoo.

Feb. 23- Visible-light-promoted formation of nitrogen-centered radicals from N-Halo reagents presented by Dr. Angus Lamar, representing the University of Tulsa. This session will be hosted by NSU faculty member, Dr. Nathan Green.

March 30- What CD73 knock-out mice taught me about biology presented by Dr. Linda Thompson, representing Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. This session will be hosted by Das-Bradoo.

April 20- Gut instincts: environmental factors and regulation of the cytokine interleukin-22 (IL-22) at mucosal barriers presented by Dr. Lauren Zenewicz, representing the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. This session will be hosted by Dr. Kyeorda Kemp.

There is no charge to attend the seminar and the series is open to all who wish to attend. Complimentary cookies and coffee will be provided for guests.

Each one-hour lecture begins at 10 a.m. at the NSUBA campus in the Administrative Services Building, Room 141 (Auditorium), 3100 E. New Orleans, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, 74014.
