NSU presents Continuing Education Healthcare Administration

(Broken Arrow, Oklahoma) -- Northeastern State University will award the first eight certificates to international students of the online Healthcare Administration Certificate Program this May.

Using online learning technology, NSUs College of Extended Learning has made its Healthcare Administration Certificate Program available for international health professionals seeking U.S. certification.

About half of our international learners enrolled in the certificate program are practicing physicians interested in learning about healthcare management in order to enhance the quality of care in their respective nations, said program instructor Mark Tozzio.

The program, which began in 2015, has partnerships with Health Systems Management Association in Kenya, the Arubian government-run insurance agency AZV and the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority.

Individuals who successfully completed three or more courses are:

  • Ronald Wijngaarde, of Aruba, AZV National Health Insurance Program/Single Payer System;
  • Andrea Maitland, DDS, of Cayman Islands, Health Services Authority national health program;
  • Dr. Takeyce Palmer, of Cayman Islands, Health Services Authority anesthesiologist;
  • Dr. Linden Swan, of Cayman Islands, Health Services Authority pediatrician;
  • Dr. Tameka March, of Cayman Islands, Health Services Authority internal medicine hospitalist;
  • Oral Richards, of Cayman Islands, Health Services Authority radiology manager;
  • Dr. Delroy Jefferson, of Cayman Islands, Health Services Authority chief medical officer and anesthesiologist; and
  • Dr. Nigel Boothe, of Cayman Islands, Health Services Authority co-director of Emergency Room Services.
