NSU-Muskogee recognized as one of AIM’s “17 of 2017”

(Muskogee, Oklahoma) - Action in Muskogee recently named Northeastern State Universitys Muskogee campus one of the 17 in 2017 as part of the inaugural recognition by the AIM Education Excellence Committee.

According to AIM, this years focus was Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Honorees are individuals, schools, businesses and organizations that have contributed greatly to supporting STEM activities in the Muskogee community.

Through your leadership, NSU-Muskogee has helped organize and present such things as Math and Engineering Design Challenge and has been instrumental in developing healthcare programs in conjunction with Connors State College, as well as offering science-related degrees unique to this area, Connie Strout, chair of AIM Educational Excellence Committee, said. These activities have enriched the lives of our students, helped them understand the relationship between school work and real world opportunities, and enabled them to experience healthcare camps during the summer.

It is an honor to be recognized by the AIM group for the programs we have on the Muskogee campus, but more importantly, both nursing degrees and the Occupational Therapy program are also meeting critical needs in our region, NSU-Muskogee Dean Dr. Tim McElroy said.
