(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) - Its time to come home! Northeastern State University alumni are invited back to campus for a weekend of fun and reminiscing during the 2018 homecoming celebration Sept. 23-29.
The week of homecoming is the highlight of the fall, and we look forward to seeing a large number of the NSU family in Tahlequah, said Daniel Johnson, director of Alumni Services. There is a lot to do and see, and we invite the Green & White Network to come home to celebrate the tradition of NSU.
This years homecoming will include favorite annual events including the Green & White Golf Classic, the homecoming parade, the 21st annual Emerald Ball, the Athletics Breakfast, Friday Night Flashback and the Alumni Association Honors Dinner. The homecoming football game will be against University of Nebraska-Kearney at 1 p.m.
New to this years lineup will be the Homecoming Champagne Brunch on Friday. The brunch will be a casual, reunion-focused gathering open to all alumni featuring fellowship, food, champagne and a bloody mary bar.
Alumni Association members interested in participating in this years Green & White Golf Classic can do so at a reduced player entry fee of $45 through Sept. 7. The event will feature a scramble format, however, teams will be more traditional foursomes instead of the historical teams of six.
The Alumni Association will host a pancake breakfast before and during the homecoming parade. Open to all alumni, students and the community, the breakfast is free for Alumni Association members and $5 for all others.
Our history at NSU is a beautiful testimony of timeless endurance and strength, said Alumni Association President Andrea Tucker. Coming to NSU during homecoming is a perfect way to rekindle relationships while remembering powerful moments and feelings of pride all over again. I invite you to revisit your campus as we honor you and our rich history at homecoming. Come tell your story, share your memories with others and enjoy a weekend tailor made for you.
The Alumni Association produces homecoming weekend events in partnership with corporate sponsors BancFirst, Cherokee Nation, Liberty Mutual and One Degree Lawn Care & Landscaping.
