NSU’s Sequoyah Institute presents “One Night in Memphis”

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) - Northeastern State University will present One Night in Memphis at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts. The performance is part of the 2018-2019 Sequoyah Institute Performing Arts Series.

One Night in Memphis, created and directed by John Meuller, is the number one booked tribute to legendary Sun Records recording artists Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley performed live and starring former cast members of the Broadway smash, Million Dollar Quartet.

Assistant Dean of the College of Liberal Arts Dr. Robyn Pursley said the Sequoyah Institute is excited to bring such a unique show to NSU.

This is going to be such a fun show and a great opening for our 2018-2019 season, Pursley said. The music of these legendary artists is something that all generations and music fans of all genres can enjoy, so we hope to see a wide range of patrons attend. We really are hoping to see some new faces, particularly NSU students, added to our wonderful group of patrons who continue to support the Sequoyah Institute. I think the show will be a great time for campus and community members alike.

Tickets for the performance may be purchased by phone at 918-444-4500 or in person weekdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sequoyah Institute Box Office, now conveniently located at 300 N. Muskogee Ave., at the NSU Playhouse. Tickets will also be available at the Center for the Performing Arts Box Office beginning one hour before show time.

Individual performance tickets, season tickets and group discounts are available. As always, tickets are free for NSU students with a current ID. Special ticket pricing is also available for NSU faculty, staff and alumni.
