NSU presents spring 2018 Science and Technology Seminar Series

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) - The spring 2018 Science and Technology Seminar Series at the Northeastern State University Tahlequah campus begins Jan. 31.

Presented by the Gregg Wadley College of Science & Health Professions and arranged by Dr. John de Banzie, professor of biology, the series includes speakers with topics in six different areas of study.

Jan. 31- Land snails: yes in my backyard! presented by Dr. Elizabeth Bergey, representing the Oklahoma Biological Survey, University of Oklahoma.

Feb. 14- Wiring the insect nervous system: the genetics of axon guidance in Drosophila presented by Dr. Timothy Evans, representing the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Arkansas.

Feb. 28- Straight from the camels mouth: investigations into North American Pleistocene paleoenvironments presented by Dr. Lindsey Yann, representing the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences.

March 14- Identifying new biofilm signaling pathways in a bacterial pathogen presented by Dr. Matthew Cabeen, representing the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Oklahoma State University.

March 28- Seabirds signal changes in ocean conditions: prey, predators and heat in the eastern Pacific presented by Dr. Mike Horn, representing the Department of Biological Science, California State University Fullerton.

April 4- Disabling teichoic acid to kill MRSA with beta-lactam antibiotics presented by Dr. Charles Rice, representing the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Oklahoma.

There is no charge to attend the seminar. The series and events are open to all.

Each one-hour lecture begins at 3 p.m. at the NSU Tahlequah campus in the Science Building, Room 160.
