NSU presents the fall 2018 Science and Technology Seminar

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) - The fall 2018 Science and Technology Seminar Series at the Northeastern State University Tahlequah campus begins Sept. 5.
Presented by the Gregg Wadley College of Science & Health Professions and arranged by Dr. John de Banzie, professor of biology, the series includes speakers with topics of interest in six areas of study.
Sept. 5- Genes, environment, and experience: untangling a butterflys sense of beauty presented by Dr. Erica Westerman, representing the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Arkansas.
Sept. 19- Plant-bacteria interactions: complementary approaches using model plants and crop systems presented by Dr. Clemencia Rojas, representing the Department of Plant Pathology, University of Arkansas.
Oct. 10- Muddy waters: untangling the effects of water clarity on predator-prey interactions involving largemouth bass presented by Dr. Daniel Shoup, representing the Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management, Oklahoma State University.
Oct. 17- Paths to improving student success in lower-division math classes presented by Dr. Chris Francisco, representing the Department of Mathematics, Oklahoma State University.
Oct. 31- Microbiomes, clinical and veterinary microbiology. Taxonomy in the 21st century presented by Dr. Paul Lawson representing the Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology, University of Oklahoma.
Nov. 14- Structural investigations of human G protein-coupled receptors to facilitate drug development presented by Dr. Augen Pioszak representing the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
There is no charge to attend the seminar and the series and events are open to all who wish to attend.
Each one-hour lecture begins at 3 p.m. at the NSU Tahlequah campus in the Science Building, Room 160.
