NSU University and Community Chorus to present ‘Off to Ireland"

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- The Northeastern State University Department of Music will present Off to Ireland: A Farewell Concert, a collaboration between the University and Community Chorus and the Tulsa Community College Concert Choir at 7 p.m. on March 14 at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts.

During the concert, the two ensembles will preview music they will perform when they travel to the American Festival of Music in Ireland during spring break. Off to Ireland: A Farewell Concert will feature American folk music, contemporary American music and composers of the Americas. Notably, Kevin Memleys Cherokee Travelers Greeting will bring the poetic text of this Native American Lyric abroad.

The University and Community Chorus is under the direction of Jeffery Wall, and the Tulsa Community College Concert Choir is under the direction of Laura Cowan.

General admission tickets are $8; student and senior tickets are $5.
