Published: 2019-01-31

(Broken Arrow, Oklahoma) -- Northeastern State University received the Association for Continuing Higher Educations 2018 Distinguished Credit Program Award for its Certificate of Emergency Management and Planning program.

NSUs Certificate of Emergency Management and Planning is a 24-credit-hour, online program that can be completed in as little as two semesters. The program is a collaboration of the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Extended Learning.

Assistant Professor Rebekah Doyle said the certificate program was launched in February 2012 and has seen exceptional growth and full enrollment every semester.

Oftentimes, there is the need to create two sections of a single program course during a semester, she said. The popularity of the Certificate of Emergency Management and Planning is tremendous due to the relevancy of the content material and versatility of the certificates use by the student upon program completion.

Doyle said its an honor for the program to be selected for this award.

The ACHE award is a national, prestigious award, said Doyle. The nominations are highly competitive and as such, it is a tremendous honor for the Certificate of Emergency Management and Planning program to have been chosen as the recipient of the ACHE award. The ACHE award signifies national recognition of the excellence of the program.
