(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) - Northeastern State University has announced Dan Mabery will be the next vice president of University Relations following the retirement of Ben Hardcastle.

Mabery has served as the NSU assistant vice president for Enrollment Management since 2016.

His higher education experience dates back to 1996 and includes stops at Henderson State University, the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, Morningside College and the University of Mary.

I am excited to continue my career at Northeastern State University as I transition to the role of vice president for University Relations, Mabery said. The University Relations' team is an extremely talented group of professionals who work hard to support NSU and its communities. I look forward to supporting NSU's mission while serving in this capacity.

Mabery holds a masters of management-marketing and an MBA from the University of Mary and a bachelors in physics/science education from Central Methodist College. He is set to complete the coursework for a doctorate of education-leadership at Creighton University later this summer.

Hardcastle has been with NSU since 2013. He previously served with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority, Orange County Government, Heart of Florida United Way, WMFE-TV in Orlando and OETA.

It has been a privilege to have worked at NSU and be an active member of the Tahlequah, Muskogee and Broken Arrow communities and region, Hardcastle said. I will always remember the remarkable people I have met and worked with during my time here. To President Steve Turner and all of my NSU colleagues, I offer my appreciation for their friendship and dedication to achieve our shared goals.
