NSU River City Players 2019 season begins June 13

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) - Northeastern State Universitys River City Players begin their 2019 summer season shows on June 13 and tickets are on sale now. 60s Rock & Roll and 60s Country will be performed in the NSU Playhouse through Aug. 3.
60s Rock and Roll will visit classic rock and roll hits inspired by Elvis, The Supremes, Frankie Valli, Otis Redding and more. Prepare to move and groove to the beat during performances on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m.
60s Country will take the audience on a stroll down memory lane as the River City Players pay tribute to the era that produced country giants like Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, George Jones and Tammy Wynette. Performances of this show will be Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
The River City Players cast has both familiar and new faces this year.
Veteran River City performers include: Trico Blue, a fourth-year RCP performer from Tahlequah; Carly Johnson, a second-year RCP performer from Muskogee; Auburn Kirkhart, a second-year RCP performer from Fort Gibson; and Lyric Peterson, a fourth-year RCP performer from Tahlequah.
New River City performers include: DJ Fortner, from Austin, Texas; Denver King, from Bixby; Libby McCormack, Guthrie; Katelyn Morton, from Tahlequah; and Hagen Wano, from Guthrie.
Performances will take place in the NSU Playhouse and tickets cost $13 for adults, $11 for NSU alumni and employees, $10 for seniors and $7 for children. Discounts are available for groups of 12 or more.
We are thrilled to be showcasing the talents of college students from around the state, Dr. Robyn Pursley, chair of Art and Drama, said. It is an incredible professional summer-stock experience that we are able to offer these young artists and they are such a great group to work with.
The box office summer hours for now until June 11 are Monday through Friday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Beginning June 11, the hours will be Tuesday through Saturday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
