2021 Star and Rising Star Winners

NSU honors 2021 Star and Rising Star winners

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) — Northeastern State University recently celebrated the service and dedication of its employees and awarded two employees and NSU alumni the 2021 Star and Rising Star Awards.

Seth Clark
Seth Clark Assistant Director of Conferences and Marketing
Seth Clark, assistant director of conferences and marketing, was awarded the 2021 Rising STAR award for one year of service. Northeastern State University’s Rising STAR award honors an employee who’s been working between six months and two years who demonstrates devoted service, great attitude, teamwork and reliability.

Clark is a 2018 and 2020 alumnus of NSU. During his time as a student he was a 2017-2018 Herb Rozell Scholar, 2018 Outstanding Senior and served as Chairman of the Northeastern Activities Board 2018-2019.  Clark is recognized by his colleagues as dependable, forward thinking, creative, solution driven and outstandingly professional.

Erik Harris
Erik Harris Academic Services Coordinator
Erik Harris, academic services coordinator, was awarded the 2021 STAR award for 12 years of service. The STAR award honors an employee with those same qualities who’s completed two or more years.

Harris began working for NSU in 2005 as a student worker and transitioned to full-time in 2008. Harris is a 2007 and 2016 Alumnus of NSU. After earning his MBA, he took a position with the NSU Center for Teaching and Learning where he currently works and focuses on faculty development and instructional technology.

Harris is described by his colleagues as knowledgeable, patient, self-motivated, responsible and goal driven.

Winners receive a $150 check from NSU's Staff Council, a $50 gift card from Barnes & Noble, 2021-2022 annual parking permits and a STAR award trophy. Clark and Harris were recognized during NSU’s annual Employee Recognition Reception on April 29.
