Northeastern State University announces 2025 Centurions

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University has announced the individuals to be named as 2025 Centurions.

A Northeastern State University Centurion is an individual whose dedication to helping others in their community and beyond any physically imposed boundaries, has made a notably positive impact during the course of NSU’s well documented history. The prestigious award has been given to NSU faculty, alumni, staff, students or any member of the NSU community, past or present who has affected the life of the nominator, the Northeastern community or the public at large. A Centurion, can be living or deceased, and should embody the communal spirit and legacy of the university.

Since selecting 100 individuals as inaugural recipients of the Centurion Award during its Centennial Celebration in 2009, NSU has continued to add several names to the Centurion list annually. 

The newest class of NSU Centurions to be honored include:

  • Attorney General of the Cherokee Nation Chad Harsha, JD, former Secretary of Natural Resources of the Cherokee Nation, 2009 Alumnus
  • Dr. Alan Herrin, Ph.D., M.S., 1958 Alumnus
  • Mr. William “Bill” Langley Jr., NSU Foundation board member, 1969 Alumnus
  • Mr. Bobby J. Thompson, MBA, VP of Operations at Contech Construction, Inc., Alumni Representative of the Phi Lambda Chi fraternity, 1983 and 1985 Alumnus
  • Ms. Holly Cunningham Sisk, 1986 Alumna
  • Dr. Darryl Linde, Ph.D., M.S., NSU Professor of Mathematics and former Chair of Department of Math and Computer Science

“The annual recognition of NSU community members who have made a significant, positive impact on the world around them is a point of pride for NSU,” NSU President Rodney Hanley, said. “We look forward to honoring these individuals who have epitomized the spirit and enduring legacy of Northeastern.”

In celebration of NSU’s Founders Day 2025, these new members will be added to the list of NSU Centurions and will be honored during a luncheon on March 6 at 11:30 a.m. in the Senator Herb Rozell Ballroom at the NSU University Center.

The luncheon is open to the public and advance registration is required. Please visit nsualumni.com to register for the event by the March 4 deadline.
