NSU’s Rookie Bridge Camp kicks off the college freshman & transfer experience

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University’s Rookie Bridge Camp returns to welcome incoming freshmen and transfers to campus, providing students with the opportunity to start their NSU experience off on the right foot.

RBC offers two sessions in early August and aims to familiarize freshmen and transfer students with NSU, helping them adapt to their new environment before the fall semester begins.

“RBC is important for incoming freshmen because it is a program where they are able to connect with other incoming freshmen and current students,” Dr. Kendra Haggard, NSU Director of Student Engagement and Transitions, said. “The volunteers who they connect with during RBC are amazing mentors who help incoming students form friendships that will last a lifetime.”

Students can expect to meet faculty and staff, become involved in group activities, experience insightful programs as well as find mentors.

Rookie Bridge Camp 2025 costs $75 per person and students can pick from one of two sessions—Camp 1 from Aug. 4-5 or Camp 2 from Aug. 7-8. Scholarships are available.
