TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University received a $6,500 donation from TTCU Federal Credit Union on August 13 to continue supporting the institution’s top priorities.

The funds are from the credit union’s TTCU School Pride Program which was established as a way to give back to local schools. NSU has been a part of the program since 2007 and has since received $159,000.

Anyone with a TTCU account can request an NSU branded debit card and every time they use it, a percentage is donated to the school at the beginning of each fall and spring semester.

“At TTCU, education is not just a cause we support—it is woven into our very DNA,” Rosie Kramer, TTCU Community Relations Partner, said. “TTCU was founded by educators. For nine decades, we have stood shoulder to shoulder with our local schools and teachers. We believe that when we support our schools, we lift up our entire community. That has been our mission for 90 years and it will continue to be our driving force for decades to come.”

Kramer said the School Pride program is not just about writing checks; it is about investing in the future of the community. To date, through the School Pride Program, TTCU has poured over $2.5 million into local schools.

NSU Foundation Executive Director Peggy Glenn said funds from the TTCU School Pride Program are being used to support the President’s Ambassadors Network Program. The program is a competitive process for professional development opportunities for NSU faculty and staff. To date, the funds have been used on training for behavior intervention and threat assessment, multi-sensory education, forest carbon management techniques, stream survey skills and more.

She added that the funds have also been used for certifications, including the use of technology in education and career development training.

“We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity from TTCU and their unwavering commitment to education,” NSU President Rodney Hanley said. “These donations not only help us advance our top priorities but also strengthen the partnerships that make NSU a thriving institution.”
