AT&T recently held an announcement ceremony Dec. 1 at the Tahlequah Armory Municipal Center to publicize its establishment of 3G wireless coverage in Tahlequah, and representatives from Northeastern State University were present, including Dr. Don Betz, president, and Jerry Cook, director of university relations.
"NSU has been a big partner with AT&T and encouraging them to make the investment of putting 3G in Tahlequah," said Cook.
The function was hosted by Craig Cromley of AT&T.
Betz spoke of 3G access as one of many steps toward the goals of NSU's regional summits, and how interconnectedness and ease of communication promotes regionalism. Wes Horton, a freshman from Pryor, spoke of NSU students and their reliance on electronic devices, including iPhones, iPads and Blackberrys.
AT&T established 3G coverage for Tahlequah a few weeks ago, and the Tahlequah Armory ceremony served as an opportunity for AT&T to officially announce the service.
