Grand Opening Set for NSUBA Classroom Building

Published: 2006-08-23

BROKEN ARROW Through the generosity and support of Tulsa County voters, Northeastern State University Broken Arrow will host a grand opening celebration for a new classroom building on Aug. 25 at 11 a.m.

Construction of NSUBAs newest classroom facility, Building G, was made possible through Tulsa Countys Vision 2025. The grand opening commemorates the completion of the first Vision 2025 Higher Education Project.

"We greatly appreciate the faith the people of Broken Arrow and Tulsa County have placed in our university by approving Vision 2025," said NSU President Dr. Larry Williams. "'The project is a valuable investment in the future of northeastern Oklahoma."

The Vision 2025 package approved by voters provided for funding to complete Phase II of construction on the campus which includes science, library and classroom buildings.

The expanded classroom facility will allow NSUBA to better serve students in the Greater Tulsa Metropolitan Area. Once completed, the campus will be able to accommodate 8,000 students annually, providing for increased economic growth for the Tulsa metropolitan area through a well-educated workforce, which provides incentive for new employers to establish businesses in the region.

Guest speakers at the event include Williams, Broken Arrow Mayor Richard Carter, Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor, Tulsa County Commissioner Bob Dick, Tulsa County Commission Chairman Wilbert Collins, Regional University System of Oklahoma Board of Regents Chairman Mark Stansberry, Regional University System of Oklahoma Board of Regents member Jan Gordon, and Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce Chairman Russell Peterson.
