Bob Berry to give Battenfield-Carletti lecture March 3 at NSU

Published: 2010-02-24

Bob Berry, owner and CEO of Tri-B Nursery, will deliver the Battenfield-Carletti Distinguished Entrepreneur Lecture at Northeastern State University on March 3 at 10 a.m. in the NET Auditorium.

The lecture is concluded with a Q&A at approximately 11 a.m., followed by an invitational luncheon at noon in the NET Tower Room. The lecture and Q&A are free and open to the public.

Berry is a 1961 graduate of Northeastern. His nursery operation is now nationwide, employing approximately 3,500 people. Recently he made a generous donation of flowers, shrubs and young trees to NSU's Oklahoma College of Optometry, including labor to place the plants around the college's buildings.

Berrys lifelong interest in politics led him to work in the Senate campaigns of Henry Bellmon and Dewey Bartlett. He was appointed to chair the Oklahoma Highway Commission during Bellmon's second administration. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Small Company Management Program (now Owner President Management). NSU named him a Distinguished Alumnus in 2009.

Established in 2002 through the NSU Foundation by Dr. Harold Battenfield and Dr. John Carletti, the Battenfield-Carletti Distinguished Entrepreneur Lecture Series invites NSU alumni to campus to share their entrepreneurial experiences with students.
